BISHKEK, April 25 (RIA Novosti) - The daughter of the former president of Kyrgyzstan said Tuesday she was determined to remain involved in the political life of the Central Asian republic.

Bermet Akayeva, whose father Askar was overthrown in an uprising last March, was elected to parliament shortly before the change in power. The results of the parliamentary elections were later annulled and she was stripped of the parliamentary seat.

"I intend to take part in the political life of the republic one way or another," she said in the capital Bishkek during the presentation of her book devoted to last March's "tulip revolution".

Akayeva said she had no claims against the national security service, which detained her Monday when she tried to enter the country from neighboring Kazakhstan. She was questioned as part of an ongoing inquiry against her elder brother Aidar Akayev and husband Adil Toigonbayev.

Akayeva's book - Flowers of Evil. About the So-called "Tulip Revolution" in Kyrgyzstan - was printed in 1,200 copies. She said the book provided an insight into the causes and consequences of the March 24 coup.

During her father's tenure, Akayeva headed the Alga Kyrgyzstan party, which proactively supported the incumbent authorities.

Her brother Aidar is still officially a member of parliament but has not attended a single session after he fled the republic with his parents in the wake of last spring's events.
