BISHKEK, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - Talks on the future of a United States air base in Kyrgyzstan will continue in the next few days, Kyrgyzstan's defense minister said Tuesday.
Ismail Isakov did not name a concrete date, but added that American experts had been discussing Kyrgyzstan's proposals in Washington and would return to the Central Asian country to continue talks.
About 1,000 U.S. servicemen are stationed at the Manas airbase near the capital, Bishkek, that was set up in December 2001 to support U.S.-led operations in neighboring Afghanistan.
