MOSCOW, June 14 (RIA Novosti) - Member countries of the six-nation Shanghai Cooperation Organization are expected to sign documents on anti-terrorism cooperation at a two-day summit starting Wednesday, a Russian presidential aide said.

The leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and China will gather in China to mark five years since the regional security forum was founded in Shanghai and will sign three major ant-terrorism agreements.

Sergei Prikhodko said, "The Shanghai [summit] will establish new agreements designed to increase the SCO's potential to address threats and challenges of the 21st century ... including through the creation of a joint SCO response system to address situations that could affect peace, stability and security in the region."

He said three draft documents on anti-terrorism cooperation would be signed during the summit: on establishing regulations for conducting joint anti-terrorism operations in member countries, on identifying and closing routes used by terrorists and extremists to infiltrate them and on information protection within the SCO's regional anti-terrorism structure.

Prikhodko said that draft documents reflected the SCO's increasing role in the fight against terrorism, including international information security, a new topic for the SCO agenda proposed by Russia.

He said the SCO would also address drug trafficking, including through the creation of a mechanism to coordinate efforts of regional anti-drug structures.

The SCO leaders will also sign a joint agreement on economic and humanitarian cooperation, Prikhodko said. He added that the newly created SCO Business Council, which is designed to boost economic cooperation within the organization, would hold an inaugural session during the summit.
