The Central Asian country stopped direct supplies of natural gas to Ukraine at the beginning of this year. A Russian-Swiss joint venture Rosukrenergo that was the key company in a deal to end a bitter price row early this year between Ukraine and Russia is currently the sole supplier of Russian and Central Asian gas to Ukraine.
Ivan Plachkov, who will head the delegation, said the visit would take place June 27.
Ukrainian and Turkmen Presidents Viktor Yushchenko and Saparmurat Niyazov discussed Monday oil and gas cooperation and the timeframe of the visit.
Ukraine's prime minister-designate Yulia Tymoshenko said Thursday she would reconsider all of the country's current agreements on natural gas supplies and secure a return to lower prices.
Tymoshenko, who is known as the "gas princess" in her homeland for making a multimillion-dollar fortune out of the natural-gas business, said: "All agreements on gas supplies to Ukraine today call for further profound revision, and for construction in a friendly mode of new contractual relations with Russia and Turkmenistan."
