KIEV, September 5 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Suprun) - Raisa Bogatyryova, 53, who was Ukraine's health minister in 2001, has been elected leader of the Party of Regions' faction in the country's parliament, the party's press service said Tuesday.
The Party of Regions is led by Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, who also leads a coalition comprising the Communist Party, the Socialist Party and some members of the pro-presidential party, Our Ukraine.
It was decided at a faction session that a regular party congress will be held October 28.
Bogatyryova is also one of the leaders of the Party of Regions.
