The foreign ministers of Russia and South Korea discussed by phone Wednesday North Korea's nuclear program, the Russian foreign ministry said. 
Russia's lower house of parliament adopted Wednesday a statement on the anti-Russian and anti-democratic policies of the Georgian leadership.
"Iran will not retreat even a step from its legal rights [in the nuclear sector], and will pursue its course with dignity," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said. 
The speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament refused to rule out new sanctions against Georgia Wednesday, and said amendments affecting postal and banking operations will be made to the national security law. 
Russia and India will use a 24-satellite navigational and global positioning system, Glonass, together, a spokesman for the Russian Federal Space Agency said. 
"I am counting on the North Korean leadership to demonstrate restraint, caution and responsibility on this issue," Sergei Ivanov told journalists at Russia's Kant airbase in Kyrgyzstan. "[Nuclear] tests could inflict ecological damage on Russia." 
Addressing the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Sergei Lavrov said: "Russia is open to building relations with the Georgian people, because the nation deserves it. But we will not yield to provocations from the [President Mikheil] Saakashvili regime."
