The newly elected UN secretary general may boost the organization's role in the resolution of global problems, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
North Korea does not intend to give up the six-nation talks on its nuclear program following the UN Security Council's sanctions, a deputy Russian foreign minister said Sunday. 
The UN Security Council unanimously approved sanctions against North Korea following the reported nuclear test in the reclusive communist state.
