Russia is not afraid of strong competition on the Chinese arms market if the EU lifts a ban on arms sales to China, a Russian government official said Wednesday.
Sakhalin Energy, the Shell-controlled operator of the Sakhalin II oil and gas project in Russia's Far East, has one more week to rectify environmental violations, Russia's natural resources minister said Wednesday. 
China intends to purchase Su-33 Naval Flanker ship-borne fighters from Russia, but negotiations on this issue are still at the preliminary stage, a government official said Wednesday at China's largest air show. 
Japan's Foreign Minister Taro Aso echoed the cabinet secretary's comments Wednesday, saying that Tokyo would under no circumstances lift the sanctions, even if North Korea resumed the six-party negotiations.
