KIEV, December 27 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's gross domestic product is expected to grow 7% in 2006, the Ukrainian prime minister said Wednesday.

"I hope we'll achieve the GDP growth of about 7% by the end of the year. The economic growth dynamics will continue into the next year," Viktor Yanukovych told a government meeting.

Ukraine's GDP grew 2.4% in 2005 and 12.1% in 2004.

Yanukovych said the incumbent government has been able to stabilize the situation in the country this year.

"I am convinced that the government has managed to stabilize the situation in the country and we'll begin the year 2007 with a hope that stabilization will continue," Yanukovych said.
