GAZA, March 13 (RIA Novosti) - The Palestinian Authority is negotiating the release of kidnapped British journalist Alan Johnston, and expects him to be freed later today, a government spokesman said Tuesday.
"We know these people and are continuing negotiations to have him freed today," Ghazi Hamad, the Palestinian government spokesman, told demonstrators protesting Johnston's kidnapping at a meeting in Gaza. "I confirm that we will get good news later today," he said.
An unknown group kidnapped the BBC correspondent near his house in Gaza Monday.
