BAKU, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - Azerbaijan's economy grew 40% in the first three months of the year, the country's president said Friday.

"The economy saw a 40% growth in the first quarter. This is a very serious growth which certainly affects the country's image," Ilkham Aliyev said.

The leader said the average pension in the oil-rich South Caucasus state was $70, the minimum wage almost $60, and that average wages stood at about $200 and would reach $250 by the yearend.
