KIEV, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's interior minister quoted a pro-presidential opposition member, Yuriy Lutsenko, as denying speculations about a murder plot being prepared against him and other opposition leaders.
A member of the presidential administration, Valeriy Heletei, said last week he had evidence of the assassination plot, which targeted above all Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the eponymous bloc, and Lutsenko, the leader of the People's Self-Defense movement. Heletei implicated radical politicians and Interior Ministry officials.
Minister Vasiliy Tsushko said Lutsenko had told the ministry he had no information to back the allegations, while Heletei and Tymoshenko refused to talk to ministry officials or file any official statements.
Tsushko said the ministry had sent the information to the prosecutors, the National Security Council and President Viktor Yushchenko.
