LONDON, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - A man who crashed a fuel-laden jeep into the front doors of Scotland's Glasgow airport in an apparent botched terrorist attack on June 30 died in hospital, local police said Friday.

Kafeel Ahmed, 27, a Bangalore-born Indian national, had been in a coma since being admitted to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after suffering critical burns to 90% of his body in the incident, in which no bystanders were injured.

Ahmed, an engineer with a PhD in design and technology, was arrested at the airport along with Iraqi doctor Bilal Abdullah, also in the car, who has been charged with planning terrorist attacks.

The incident occurred one day after another failed attack in London, when a car packed with explosives failed to blow up.

Kafeel Ahmed's brother, Sabeel Ahmed, and Jordanian doctor Mohammed Jamil Asha have also been arrested and charged over the Glasgow attack.
