KIEV, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - Nine people were killed in two separate car accidents in Ukraine, the local emergencies service's press office said Monday.
A truck driver lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic hitting a car and minibus killing five. The accident occurred at a major highway in the Vinnitsa Region in western Ukraine Sunday.
Three passengers in the car died and two were hospitalized, while in the minibus two people died and nine were injured. The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
The same day a collision between two cars claimed four lives in the Ternopol Region, western Ukraine.
A total of 34 people have been killed and 257 injured in 201 car accidents in Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
