MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Peru September 11 in the first-ever high-level Russian visit to the country, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday.
"The purpose of Lavrov's upcoming visit to Peru is to help Russia and Peru realize their potential for greater mutual economic and commercial cooperation," the spokesman said.
He said Russia and Peru share a common approach to many of the world's problems, with both countries supporting a strengthening of the United Nation's role in international affairs.
