MOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) - An annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held at Davos, Switzerland, in early 2008, will focus on global business development, the WEF regional manager for Europe said Thursday.

WEF annual meetings that are traditionally held at Davos gather representatives of political and business elites from all over the world to discuss the most topical issues in global economic development.

Christophe Weber said Davos-2008, to be held on January 21-23, will be the WEF's 38th meeting in the Swiss town. The meeting will discuss the Power of Collaborative Innovation, Weber said.

Weber said Davos-2008 will have three priorities: Russia and China as the world's largest developing economies, as well as Japan which will hold the rotating chair of the G8 group of seven industrialized nations plus Russia next year.

Weber said all economic communities wanted Russia to be represented at the forum to talk about its vision for business development.

Weber said the Davos forum participants will also discuss climate change, the development of technological innovations and the problems of the global financial infrastructure.

For the third time, the Davos forum will host an energy summit to discuss world energy development and offer an opportunity for the heads of major energy companies and energy ministers from different countries to communicate at an informal level, Weber said.
