ISLAMABAD, December 19 (RIA Novosti) - At least 16 children were killed in a road accident in the Punjab province, northeast Pakistan, local TV reported, citing police.
The accident occurred when a van carrying over 20 school children aged seven to 11 collided head-on with a truck. The driver of the van also died. Five children are currently in intensive care.
Earlier on Wednesday, at least 58 people were killed and over 100 injured when an express train full of passengers travelling home for the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha derailed in southern Pakistan.
