BELGRADE, April 16 (RIA Novosti) - Kosovo will start establishing its own special forces (BSK) and security and information agency (BIA) in the next two and a half months or so, Kosovo's leading daily said on Wednesday.

Koha Ditore said a security service would be established by 2010. Military personnel serving in international missions in Kosovo will also conduct training for the Kosovo personnel.

The law establishing the BIA will come into force on June 30, and setting up the necessary infrastructure will take a further six months.

Koha Ditore also said Kosovo's security forces would number 2,500 staff, excluding 800 part-time service personnel. NATO will handle their recruitment, and those countries which have recognized Kosovo's sovereignty will provide arms and equipment.

Kosovo proclaimed unilateral independence on February 17, and has since been recognized by 37 countries, including the United States and a number of European nations.
