WASHINGTON, May 14 (RIA Novosti) - Senator Hillary Clinton won Tuesday's presidential primary in West Virginia and said she was "more determined than ever" in her campaign to become the Democratic nominee for U.S. president.

Despite her landslide win the former first lady still trails rival and frontrunner Senator Barack Obama, who has the backing of more delegates as a presidential candidate.

Clinton, who is rumored to be $20 million in debt, appealed to supporters: "I'm asking people to think hard about where we are in this election, about how we will win in November," and added, "This race isn't over yet."

However, both candidates will need to win the backing of 2,025 delegates for victory and according to some media reports, Obama, who could be the country's first black president, needs just 145 delegates to secure the party nomination.

With only 189 delegates up for grabs in the Democratic fight the campaign to select a White House nominee is expected to be decided at the party's national convention in August.
