WARSAW, June 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's unreasonable actions could help to speed up Georgia's accession to NATO, the Polish foreign minister said Wednesday after a meeting of the New Group of Georgia's Friends in Warsaw.

Issues of Georgian cooperation with NATO and the European Union, including Tbilisi's joining the Membership Action Plan (MAP), were discussed in the Polish capital.

The Polish press agency PAP quoted Radoslaw Sikorski as saying he hopes "Georgian neighbors" will get the signal that "unreasonable, provocative actions" could lead to a change in the position of NATO members in December.

The New Group of Georgia's Friends was established in 2005 on the initiative of Georgia. It comprises Baltic countries, as well as Ukraine, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania.

At a summit in Bucharest in April, NATO members decided to postpone offering Ukraine and Georgia membership of the alliance's Membership Action Plan but promised to review the decision in December. The ex-Soviet republics had received strong U.S. backing for their bids.
