Building collapses in Tehran, killing 19 construction workers

TEHRAN, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - A building being built in Iran's capital collapsed on Monday, killing 19 workers, national radio reported.

The accident occurred early in the morning at a construction site in the Sa'adatabad district in northwest Tehran, when the workers were sleeping inside the seven-storey building.

Specialists are investigating the causes of the collapse.

Authorities have said the developer and construction investors face "severe punishment".
