ATHENS, July 25 (RIA Novosti) - The death toll from an explosion and subsequent fire on a tanker under repair at a Greek shipyard has risen to five people, the country's merchant marine ministry said Friday.
Another four people were injured during Thursday's explosion in Perama, 20 km (12 miles) west of the Greek capital, Athens, while three are considered missing.
Rescuers began searching the vessel after the fire was put out.
The ministry said two people were arrested on suspicion of violating welding rules. Greek media said workers in Perama were planning a strike to demand better work conditions.
