MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - The Our Ukraine party, headed by the country's president, is urging democratic factions to defend the country's interests against "Moscow's plotting," the UNIAN agency said on Monday.

"While the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, the Party of Regions and Communists are making up the pro-Kremlin majority in the Supreme Rada, Our Ukraine is urging all democratic and patriotic forces to unite to defend Ukraine's national interests," the leader of the Our Ukraine-People's Self Defense faction, Vyacheslav Kirilenko, said.

Yushchenko's Our Ukraine Party pulled out of the pro-Western ruling coalition on Thursday after just nine months in power. The move, which could lead to snap elections if the dispute is not resolved, followed a vote by opposition parties backed by the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc to reduce the president's power.

"In such situations all those who cherish our freedom and independence should forget about their differences and unite around President Viktor Yushchenko," Kirilenko was quoted by the agency as saying.

The Ukrainian president earlier accused Prime Minister Tymoshenko of attempting a constitutional coup as well as "treason and political corruption" over her failure to back the president in his support for Georgia and condemnation of Russia in the recent conflict over South Ossetia.

Ukraine's premier told journalists on Monday that she categorically denied all the accusations against her.
