NEW DELHI, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - An Indian train going from New Delhi to eastern state of Bihar lost its way until passenger protests got it back on the right track, national media reported Monday.

The passengers quickly noticed that the train had taken a wrong turn about half way to its destination, forcing the train to stop and demanding it go back to correct the error.

The trainmaster and the driver were reluctant to change their route, saying it matched the map they had.

The passengers organized a rally during the three-hour halt, and eventually the train went back 15 km and continued along the correct route.

Passengers said the driver had been given the wrong map and railway chiefs have launched an investigation into the incident.
