KIEV, December 16 (RIA Novosti) - A delegation from Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz is continuing gas talks with energy giant Gazprom in Moscow that started on Monday, the Ukrainian company said on Tuesday.
During the talks Monday, the parties discussed the settlement of Ukraine's debt for gas supplied to Ukraine and natural gas deliveries to the ex-Soviet republic in 2009.
According to Gazprom, Naftogaz owes $2.4 billion for gas supplied to Ukraine in September-November, including penalties and fines. The Ukrainian company has started to repay the debt but is seeking to postpone full payment of the outstanding sum.
Gazprom earlier said no new contracts on natural gas supplies to Ukraine would be signed until Naftogaz had repaid its gas debt.
