TEHRAN, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - Iran is preparing to hand over to Interpol a list containing the names of 100 Israelis it says are guilty of war crimes against the Palestinians, the Islamic Republic's chief prosecutor said on Thursday.

Israel's recent three-week military operation against the Hamas-run Gaza Strip took the lives of some 1,300 Palestinians, and injured another 5,000. Around 50,000 people were also left homeless by the ground and air assault. Tel Aviv launched the attack to prevent the firing of homemade rockets at southern Israeli border towns.

Ayatollah Qorban-Ali Dori-Najafabadi said that a list of 100 "Zionist war criminals" guilty of numerous crimes against the Palestinian people was being created.

"A new list is being prepared and dossiers are being created on war criminals from the Zionist regime," the Islamic Revolutionary Court's chief prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, told journalists on the sidelines of an international conference in Tehran on Palestinian issues. "After all of the documents have been prepared, they will be delivered to Interpol."

The Iranian state broadcaster said on Monday that the list included Israeli Premier Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Mossad head Meir Dagan.
