Venezuelan president to visit China

The Venezuelan president is scheduled to arrive in China on a working visit on Tuesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

BEIJING, April 7 (RIA Novosti) - The Venezuelan president is scheduled to arrive in China on a working visit on Tuesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

"At the invitation of President Hu Jintao, President Hugo Rafael Chavez of Venezuela will pay a working visit to China from April 7 to 9," the ministry said on its website.

The agenda for the Venezuelan leader's visit has not been announced.

China and Venezuela cooperate in a number of spheres. The two parties signed a package of deals on energy, food, telecommunications and technology in February.

Beijing and Caracas also agreed to expand their joint investment fund established in 2007, increase oil output in Venezuela and increase oil supplies to China.
