A decision on providing Ukraine with the second tranche of a stabilization loan from the International Monetary Fund will be made in mid-May, the Ukrainian presidential secretariat said Monday.
KIEV, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - A decision on providing Ukraine with the second tranche of a stabilization loan from the International Monetary Fund will be made in mid-May, the Ukrainian presidential secretariat said Monday.

The IMF suspended cooperation with Kiev in early 2009 over uncoordinated positions on overcoming the economic crisis.

Kiev received the first installment of $4.5 billion as part of the IMF's $16.43 billion loan in November 2008, but further payments have been delayed over Kiev's inability to demonstrate that it is capable of reducing its budget deficit.

"We hope that in the second 10 days of May the IMF will hold a session of its board of directors, which will make a decision on concluding the first revision of the program and consequently on financing Ukraine with the second tranche," first deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential secretariat head Oleksandr Shlapak said.
