Two more arrested over Baku college shooting
Last Thursday 29-year-old Farda Gadyrov is reported to have gone on a shooting spree at the academy killing 12 students and staff dead and wounding 13 others, before turning the gun on himself.
Azerbaijani national Gafur Kazymov, who worked at a construction site in the Russian Far Eastern city of Vladivostok, was arrested and transported to Baku. According to unofficial reports, the cell phone the gunman had with him at the time of the attack was registered in Kazymov's name.
The second detainee is Dzhavidan Amirov, a Georgian national of Azerbaijani origin, from the village of Shulaveri in Georgia's Marneuli district near the border with Azerbaijan and Armenia. His connection with the gunman has not been disclosed, but police retrieved 12 cartridges and some hashish during a search of his house.
Azerbaijani investigators have so far made no comment on the arrests.
Last Friday police detained Nadir Aliyev, a Georgian national living in Azerbaijan, who is reported to have known the gunman.
