Medvedev to discuss formal peace treaty with Japan at G8 summit

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will discuss territorial issues and a formal peace treaty between Moscow and Tokyo with the Japanese leader at the upcoming G8 summit in Italy, the Russian prime minister said on Tuesday.

TOKYO, May 12 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will discuss territorial issues and a formal peace treaty between Moscow and Tokyo with the Japanese leader at the upcoming G8 summit in Italy, the Russian prime minister said on Tuesday.

"I believe that all options [to resolve territorial disputes] will be discussed at the meeting," Vladimir Putin said, adding that a peace treaty would also be on the agenda.
