BEIJING, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - Cases of suspected swine flue infection among schoolchildren in northern China's Inner Mongolia have reached 46, the Sina news agency said on Thursday.
A total of 11 children were rushed to hospital with high temperatures, and others are being kept in quarantine in the school building. Their samples are currently being checked for the A/H1N1 virus, which has claimed some 80 lives worldwide.
The school has been temporarily closed.
Five cases of human swine flu infection have been registered in mainland China so far, of which three patients have been dismissed from hospital.
The World Health Organization said on Wednesday that a total of 10,243 people in 41 countries have been officially diagnosed with the A/H1N1 virus.
