Mine explodes under EU mission car in Georgia, killing driver

TBILISI, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - An anti-tank mine exploded under a car carrying medics working for the EU observer mission in Georgia on Sunday morning, killing the driver and severely wounding a doctor.
The car hit the mine in the village of Muzhava in the Tsalenjikh district of western Georgia, near the border with Abkhazia, at 10:30 local time (05:30 GMT).
The driver, Tenzig Akhaladze, was fatally injured and died in hospital in the town of Zugdidi.
One of the doctors, Gega Patiashvili, was severely injured, and is being treated in the same hospital. His condition is stable.
The car was travelling with another EU observer vehicle. The second car was only slightly damaged by the blast.
