MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - Los Angeles police handed over the body of Michael Jackson to relatives on Saturday following an autopsy that has not yet confirmed what caused the King of Pop's death.

The singer passed away suddenly on Thursday at the age of 50. The autopsy took more than three hours, Los Angeles County Coroners spokesman Craig Harvey said, and no violence was involved.

However, a final determination of the cause of death would have to wait for toxicology reports and other tests, which could take up to six weeks.

Investigators are thought to be looking into whether an overdose of prescription drugs could have been a factor in a heart attack.

Jackson had long battled an addiction to prescription medication and his personal physician was due to be questioned over what he may have been taking.

No funeral details have been released, although a public burial has not been excluded by the star's family.
