BEIJING, July 3 (RIA Novosti) - Days of heavy rain caused a mudslide at a reservoir in southern China with more than 7,440 people forced to flee their homes, the Xinhua news agency said on Friday.

A total of 95 people have been killed and another 21 are missing across the country since the rains started on Sunday.

The evacuation of villages was sparked by a mudslide at the Kama Reservoir, the drought relief and flood control headquarters said.

Experts at the headquarters have been dispatched to the scene to assist in the relief operation.

Flood and landslides warnings were still on high in the many provinces, including Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujan and Zhejiang.

In central China, at least six people were killed and one person was reported missing after a ferryboat capsized. Around 4,000 homes have been destroyed in the area, the Sina news agency said.

The floods have caused around $1.5 billion worth of damage to the Chinese economy.
