WASHINGTON, September 4 (RIA Novosti) - Two astronauts completed on Friday an almost seven-hour spacewalk to secure a new fully loaded tank of space station coolant to the International Space Station (ISS), NASA reported.

This was the second of three planned spacewalks for the current ISS crew and took place despite the nearby presence of space junk.

U.S. astronaut Danny Olivas and Sweden's Christer Fuglesang spent 6 hours 39 minutes in open space to fix the nearly 5-foot long, 7-foot wide and 4-foot high ammonia coolant tank to the ISS.

On Tuesday, Olivas and another U.S. astronaut, Nicole Scott, removed the old tank and attached it to the Discovery space shuttle to be returned to Earth for repair.

The third space walk is planned for Saturday and will focus on finalizing the hook-up of the coolant tank.

On Tuesday, the Discovery will undock from the ISS. It is scheduled to return to Earth on September 10.
