MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - About 1,000 buildings were destroyed or damaged when an earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck northeast Albania, local media reported on Monday.
No injuries have been reported in the earthquake that hit Sunday night.
The epicenter was said to be located in the Dibra area close to the Macedonian border, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) northeast of the capital, Tirana.
The earthquake was followed by as many as 60 aftershocks, which were felt in central and northern Albania.
