Russian, Turkmen presidents to meet for talks on Sep. 13

"A bilateral meeting with the president of Turkmenistan will be held. The meeting will be focused on cooperation in fuel and energy sector, where we have developed a serious potential," Sergei Prikhodko.

MOSCOW, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan on September 13 to discuss with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov issues of energy cooperation, a Kremlin aide said on Thursday.

He added that the presidents will also attend the opening of the final stage of 2009- Silk Road rally.

The Silk Road rally from Russia to Turkmenistan via Kazakhstan officially received the prestigious status of a Dakar series rally in March and is held this year between September 5 and 13.
