Russian Ksenia Rappoport wins Best Actress in Venice

MOSCOW, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - Russian actress Ksenia Rappoport has won the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival for her part in La Doppia Ora (The Double Hour) movie, ANSA news agency reported.
Rappoport played the part of an immigrant house maid from Slovenia in the movie, directed by Italian Giuseppe Capotondi.
Colin Firth was voted best actor for his role as a British college professor in A Single Man movie, directed by fashion designer Tom Ford.
The movie "Lebanon" by Israeli director Samuel Maoz won the top prize, the Golden Lion.
Ksenia Rappoport graduated from the St.Petersburg State Theater Arts Academy and was immediately invited to join the company of the Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg, where she currently performs. She is a winner of several Russian and international awards, including the prestigious Italian David di Donatello award.
The 66th Venice Film Festival took place on September 2-12.
