BEIJING, September 17 (RIA Novosti) - Three people have been killed and four are reported missing as Typhoon Koppu reached China's southern Guangdong Province, Xinhua news agency said on Thursday.
"Houses in Yangchun, Xinyi and Luoding cities had been destroyed by typhoon-triggered landslides," the agency said citing a statement from the local authorities.
The typhoon reached the Chinese mainland after sweeping through Hong Kong earlier in the week, where it injured at least 50 people and caused damage to the city.
Heavy rains flooded five districts of Hong Kong, damaging more than 100 buildings and disrupting ground transportation as well as water transportation between the islands.
