TEL AVIV/GAZA, September 29 (RIA Novosti) - Israeli combat aircraft delivered an airstrike against Gaza Strip Monday night destroying a Palestinian missile launcher, the Israeli army said on Tuesday.
The missile launcher was prepared to shell Israeli areas bordering on the Palestinian enclave, the Israeli military said in a statement.
There have been no reports yet about whether there were any victims as a result of the airstrike.
At least three Palestinian rockets exploded in southern Israel in the past 24 hours. Over the past three months, Palestinians have fired 55 rickets and mortar shells on Israel, the Israeli military said.
Last Friday, the Israeli Air Force destroyed a minivan which it said was carrying Palestinian gunmen for rocket launches against Israel. The bombing killed three Palestinians.
The Gaza Strip has been the subject of an almost continuous Israeli blockade since radical Islamic group Hamas took control of the enclave in the summer of 2007, and an Israeli air and ground offensive at the turn of the year killed some 1,400 Palestinians, including hundreds of civilians.
