MOSCOW, October 5 (RIA Novosti) - At least ten people died and over 88 were injured when a train came off the rails in southern Thailand on Monday, national media reported.
The Bangkok-bound train derailed 13 kilometers from the resort town of Hua Hin.
Yuthana Thapcharoen, head of the State Railways of Thailand, said that a two-year old girl was among the victims, adding that five foreigners whose nationalities are as yet unknown were among those injured.
Local police spokesman said that 22 of the 88 injured were hospitalized.
The rescue operation is ongoing. It was earlier reported that heavy rains caused the derailment.
