KABUL, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai has condemned a suicide bombing in the capital Kabul that killed 12 people and wounded at least 84 others early on Thursday.
The blast, caused by a suicide bomber in a car, was strong enough to be felt in the Russian Embassy compound on the other side of the Afghan capital.
The Indian Embassy, located opposite the Interior Ministry, was the site of Kabul's deadliest suicide attack, which killed more than 50 people in July 2008.
The president also expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and wounded in the attack and demanded that law enforcement agencies complete their investigation as soon as possible.
U.S. President Barack Obama is reviewing a request from his top general in Afghanistan for as many as 40,000 additional troops to fight a counterinsurgency campaign against Taliban militants.
