KABUL, October 17 (RIA Novosti) - Three U.S. soldiers have died in two separate incidents in Afghanistan, an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) spokesperson said on Saturday.
Two soldiers died in a roadside blast in the east of the country and another was killed in similar circumstances in the south of the war-ravaged state, the spokesperson said. Both incidents took place on Friday.
Since the start of the year, 415 foreign soldiers have died in Afghanistan, with 247 of them from the U.S.
U.S. President Barack Obama recently pledged to boost troop numbers in Afghanistan. There are currently 68,000 Americans serving in the Central Asian state under a UN mandate to give security support to the Afghan government and stop the flow of drugs from the country.
