Police kill one, detain 3 other escaped inmates in north China

The agency said that four prisoner escaped from a prison in a city of Hohhot, which is the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The agency said that four prisoners escaped from a prison in a city of Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
China's Sina news agency reported earlier that four inmates broke out of a prison, killing a police officer and injuring a prison worker.
"The four hijacked a taxi and escaped after kidnapping and killing one officer and injuring a worker at Hohhot's No 2 prison around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday... When the taxi ran out of gas, the escapees hijacked another cab and headed toward downtown Hohhot," Sina reported citing a high-ranking local police official.
