Lithuania rotates Afghanistan troops

VILNIUS, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - Lithuania has rotated its military contingent in Afghanistan, where the Baltic state heads NATO's peacekeeping mission to restore the Ghor province, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.
The PAG-10 group is made up of 150 people. Most servicemen heading for the central province have the experience of international missions in the Balkan region, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The mission's chief task is to assist Afghan authorities in expanding their sway in the province, ensuring security and social and economic aid.
The Ghor mission, which also comprises soldiers from Denmark, Georgia, Japan, the United States, Croatia, Romania and Ukraine, started operating in June 2005.
