MOSCOW, November 2 (RIA Novosti) - At least 11 people died and about 24 were injured when a passenger train rammed into a truck in India's northern Uttar Pradesh state, the Press Trust of India reported on Monday.
The accident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing near the village of Chak Rasoolpur in Gonda district, the news agency said.
"Eleven people were killed when a truck loaded with sand was hit by the train at an unmanned crossing," a local magistrate Sukhlal Bharati was quoted by the Press Trust of India as saying.
He said the injured were admitted to hospitals, adding senior officials have rushed to the scene.
