BUENOS-AIRES, November 9 (RIA Novosti) - At least 104 people were killed and some 66 reported to be missing in floods and mudslides caused by Hurricane Ida in El Salvador, the National Civilian Police (PNC) reported.
Authorities declared a state of emergency in five of the Central American nation's regions.
The hurricane, running a speed of 120 km/h (75 mph), ripped into Nicaragua last Thursday, damaging homes and infrastructure and forcing some 40,000 people out of their homes.
U.S. forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) have begun issuing hurricane updates for most of the Gulf Coast, from Louisiana to Florida, in advance of the storm.
