BEIJING, November 9 (RIA Novosti) - Over 10,000 students in China's central Hubei province set a world record for simultaneous bathing in hot springs, the China Daily reported on Monday.
The record-breaking event took place in seven hot springs in the city of Xianning, the paper said. The ceremony started with a show: students from local colleges wearing red swimming hats formed the figure "10,000" amid hot waters.
According to the paper, the total number of bathers was 10,012, more than enough for a new Guinness record.
Bathing in hot springs, famous for their medicinal properties, is popular in China.
