A former Miss Argentina has died at the age of 38 due to complications in cosmetic surgery to firm her buttocks, Argentinean media reported.
Solange Magnano, who won the Miss Argentina title in 1994, died on Sunday after suffering a blood clot in her lungs following a gluteoplasty operation at a private clinic in Buenos Aires.
"This woman who had everything is dead because she wanted to have a slightly firmer behind," fashion designer Roberto Piazza, a close friend and employer of Magnano, was quoted as saying.
Gluteoplasty is a routine plastic surgery procedure which involves placing implants in the buttocks to give them a firmer outline.
However, the procedure requires injections, and in Magnano's case, the liquid reportedly went to her lungs and brain.
Up to the time of her death, the former beauty queen was working for Roberto Piazza and managing a modeling school that she had opened two years ago in San Francisco, Cordoba.
She is survived by her husband and eight-year-old twins.
