Japanese carmaker Nissan Motor Corp. is recalling about 310,000 cars due to defects in the emergency brake system and fuel gauges, the Kyodo news agency reported on Friday.
The carmaker said it will recall some 210,000 Elgrand and Filly minivans, produced in the period from April 1997 to April 2002, citing a cable defect could be the reason for faulty emergency brakes.
More than 100,000 Serena minivans and Cefiro sedans will also be recalled due to defective fuel gauges, the news agency said.
About 90% of the vehicles to be recalled were sold in Japan, Kyodo News added.
In September, another Japanese carmaker, Toyota Motor Corp., recalled some 4 million cars over sudden acceleration issues related to floor mats causing the gas pedal to get stuck.
